Award-winning motion graphics studio Bait Studio has designed and produced the title sequence for ITV2’s new supernatural drama, Switch. The six-part series, which debuted on ITV2 last week (Monday 15 October) is a new home-grown drama about a group of twenty-something witches who are trying to make their way in the modern big city while also coming to terms with their magical powers.

The stop motion sequence, which Bait shot on the Switch set, centres around the spell book that is integral to the show. The sequence needed to be quirky and colourful and reflective of the characters’ personalities, represented by the four elements (Earth, Air, Wind, Fire).

Paul Nicholas, Bait Studio’s Creative Director, said:

“Using stop-motion allowed us to match the quirky tone of the series, while still maintaining an organic and tangible feel. This meant spending plenty of time in pre-production and planning each shot meticulously. We created a comprehensive computer generated animatic to shoot from and worked very closely with the show’s Executive Producer at each step of the process”.

Bait worked closely with the series’ producer Touchpaper Wales throughout the creative process.

Philip Trethowan, producer of Switch said:

“Bait exceeded my expectations. They were imaginative, collaborative and hard-working and created a title sequence that perfectly sets the tone for the show and of which we’re all very proud”.

Switch is broadcast on ITV2, Mondays at 10pm from October 15
