Aberdeen belongs to the american rock band formed in 2006 named Cage The Elephant. It is featured in the band’s second album, Thank You, Happy Birthday. The music video was released in the same year the album was, 2011. In this video, we meet an orange dragon/monster who’s goal is to make human friends, but finds himself being too dangerous to the human environment by accidentally destroying cars and killing people. As he tries to find a way to tell humans that he just wants to be kind, the army sets him as a target and opens fire. The story drives through and finally ends in a really sad misunderstanding.
The use of the clay animation technique seems to fit just right to the song itself and enables the audience to go with it as we see more about this pitiful situation. Even though the movements are short and easy, they create the right feeling to the story. In this video, we can find a pretty good example that clay animation can be an ideal way to fulfil the concept of audio and visuals.
