What do you do when you can´t come to terms with your fate?
Maybe you need to gradually accept and let it sink in. Maybe a glass of tequila, good company and a nice song will help.
Rene Castillo`s 2001 short “Hasta los Huesos” (Down To The Bone) short could be seen as a sequel of “No Support”, revisiting our leading man after the events in the first short. In a downworld cantina, The Man struggles into accepting his fate, while a beautiful Catrina performer sings softly to him.
This short also won Castillo an Ariel award, this time for Best Short Animation 2002.
Maybe Tim Burton saw this short and it inspired him for the cantina scene in the Corpse Bride.
