The way things transformed because of quarantine are endless: a lot seems postponed, canceled or lost. Still, people have also stepped up and have found new and inventive ways to keep their lives going.
Photographer and skier Philipp Klein is one of those people who created something unique to spread a little bit of positivity around.
“Just before the current health situation locked us in, I was about to go Freeriding with my family. It was supposed to be the big adventure of the year, the one I had been eagerly awaiting for a year. Therefore, the lockdown had me thinking about skiing the whole time, so I started to think how I could ski without leaving my living room.”
Using a GoPro, some bedsheets and his skiing equipment, Klein pieced together an incredible stop-motion short of him “freeriding“, posting it on his Instagram account with the follwing caption:
“This is what happens when you force a skibum to stay home when I should be skiing!”
Six hours filming and four editing, the skier is happy and surprised at the traffic the post made (more than 300,000 views plus comments).
“I really wanted to make my family and friends forget the current health situation and cheer up a little. I was sick of sad news and wanted to change that by giving smiles. Focus on the positive, it’s the only way to use this time to reconnect instead of longing for ‘normal’ routine to come back.”
