ISLAND by Max Mörtl & Robert Löbel is a stop motion/2D hybrid movie taking place in a imaginary world filled with magnificent creatures of all sorts and sizes. The animated tale tells the story of the life of these creatures and their pursuit in finding a match for themselves. The look is very striking and warm while providing a nice tactile feel through shape, color, and light. The animation is beautiful and seeing just a simple behind the scenes picture from the making of the project we get the feeling that the power is all in the simplicity.
