Based on Peter Draw´s character, Ai, “Love Can Happen Anywhere” is the story of how the character, a 6 year old boy, shares the love his grandpa gave him; “he travels around the world to seek the hidden meaning of life. Ai’s companion is a puppy named Aiko. Ai’s name represents the meaning of love, and Aiko’s name has the meaning of a child full of love. showing and sharing love can change sorrow into love.”
Being one of the Junior Chamber of Singapore’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons for the second time (first one, in the year of the award´s creation 1984) in 2018, Peter Draw organises art movements for kids who have survived different kinds of disasters, helping them in this way to cope.
The character was born almost 20 years ago, in gratitude after Peter´s grandpa, his inspiration, died. He wanted to spread the message of love and trust his grandfather planted on him.
In 2018, the short presented Ai and his message as a stop motion animated short, which won the Asian Academy Creative Award, for Best Animated Program in 2019.
Peter´s objective is keep travelling with Ai, inspiring children from all over the world to do what they dream of. His message is the following, found on his website:
“Some people don’t spend their time being bothered that they can’t change the world because there’s a part of them that thinks its impossible. I choose to be bothered by that.”
Co-founder of Happy Why Brands, his art and animation studio, Peter continues trough Ai to travel the world and keep changing sorrow into love.
The animator´s message is to “to remind the world to First, Love (begin with love)”.
