The Legendary Phil Tippett is at it once again and this time it’s to fund the making of a video games based on the Stop Motion Animated Holochess game. Of course he probably can’t use the Starwars licensing for making a replica of the Holochess seen on the Millenium Falcon, but he can do his own spin on it. So he’s started a Kick Starter to get things going with the game and the working model looks great. One thing many stop motion people will say is that it’s not stop motion and it’s CGI. Yes and no… Ok first the monsters being used are scans of models hand made by Tippet and his team. They then took the models into the computer and animated them. So they did start out organically. The other thing to note is that some of Tippetts Mad God character and creatures have made an appearance in the game as playable characters. This is super cool, but don’t take my word for it. Go to the Kickstarter and check it out for yourself. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hologrid/hologrid-monster-battle-augmented-reality-board-ga
