Tragic Story with Happy Ending -by Regina Pessoa
Tragic Story with Happy Ending -by Regina Pessoa

A girl gets in trouble with her whole town because of her heart; she struggles between explaining or escaping.
Pessoa´s design reminds us to german expressionism, with her characters big eyes.

This beautiful 7 minute 43 sec. 2005 Portuguese animated short, Regina Pessoa used a special experimental technique to make it look like engraving: “photocopies with images scratched into India ink on glossy paper.” (National Film Board of Canada). In her second short story film, she used different engraving or engraving like techniques: from plaster to computer or as she like to say: “from stone to Pixel” (greatwomenanimators.com)
Poetic and melancholic, it won several awards, including the Annecy International Animated Grand Prix  2006 Award.
