
“Revoltoso” (Rebellious) is the love project of Cinema Fantasma´s founders, brothers Arturo (Vonno) and Rodolfo (Roy) Ambriz Rendón. Five years in the making after crowfunding and kickstarter campaigns, Guillermo del Toro heard about the project and thanks to his intervention, they could reach their financial goal and finish the movie.

Self-taught in stop motion, the cubist style of Mexican Revolution of this 30min. film “is about cinema itself, set on 1913 in Mexico.” The story follows Jabalito, a small one-eyed boar, that´s on the scene of one of the first filmed wars in history: the Mexican Revolution. “Of all the wild boars that inhabit Don Gonzalo’s hacienda he is the only one not fully domesticated. He prefers to enjoy his freedom, even though everyone thinks of him as a mess. In the revolutionary confusion, Jabalito accidentally discovers a film camera.”
