Remember that old school stop motion chess game between R2D2 and Chewbacca in the original Star Wars film A New Hope? Well theres a whole new animated chess game in the new film Star Wars: Force Awakens. According to a post by Jamie Caliri co-owner of DZed the creators of DragonFrame the sequence was animated using DragonFrame. Tested also got a pretty amazing behind the scenes at Phil Tippett Sudios where they witnessed the setup. There is also a behind the scenes on Vimeo which we’ve attached as well.
