TOKRI (THE BASKET) by Eeksaurus and directed by Suresh Eriyat is a powerful film about the struggles of poverty and trying to heal the wounds of a broken heart. The story focuses on a little girl who breaks her fathers favorite watch and attempts to raise money by selling handmade baskets so she can get the watch repaired. The message is very powerful. The animation and sets are beautiful. There are some great uses of motion blur and the cars. You can actually see how this is done in the making of videos below. Right now the film is running the animation festival circuit so keep an eye out for this film if you are planning on attending any festivals. The trailer and making of videos are definitely worth a watch.
